Christian Kessler and Tom Kessler have been appointed members of the Executive Committee, effective January 1st, 2016. They both are primarily active in client service. Within the Executive Committee, Christian Kessler will be responsible for Innovation, Industry Practices and the cooperation with Marsh. Tom Kessler will take on the responsibility for Risk Consulting as well as for Human Resources and Logistics.
On the occasion of his appointment, Tom Kessler says: “I thank the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee for their confidence. I am very pleased to assume, together with my cousin Christian, increas-ing responsibility within our family-owned business.” Christian Kessler adds: „We are committed to con-tinue the successful history of the company. We are proud to count on devoted employees to keep serv-ing our clients with innovative solutions in the future.”
Martin E. Kessler left the Executive Committee at the end of 2015. As full-time executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, he continues to serve clients and is responsible for the regulatory issues as well as for the overall relationship with Marsh & McLennan Companies. Martin E. Kessler: “We want to assign more responsibility to the younger generation, at a time in which my brother Robert and I are still involved in the day-to-day business. Exactly 30 years ago, our father did the same with us. Christian and Tom are well qualified and have become quickly and comprehensively acquainted with our business. They are ready to take on responsibility together with the experienced members of the Executive Committee.”
Robert Kessler (CEO), Douglas Müller, Helmut Studer, Roger Konrad, Pascal Schweingruber and Bernard Perritaz retain their existing responsibilities within the Executive Committee.
Christian Kessler, born in 1980, studied business administration at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). The topic of his thesis paper was «Operational Risk Management of the Insurer». After completing his B.A. HSG he obtained an MBA in Global Management focusing on Strategy and Risk Management at the Thunderbird School of Global Management (Arizona, USA). Before joining Kessler, he gained five years practical experience in Risk Management within a private bank as well as an international strategy and risk consulting company. Christian Kessler has joined Kessler in 2012.
Tom Kessler, born in 1981, studied electrical engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich), with an exchange year at the École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST) in Paris. He wrote his Master’s thesis, a «Reliability Analysis of the Swiss High Voltage Trans-mission System» at the Laboratory for Safety Analysis. He completed his studies with an MBA in General Management at INSEAD (Singapore). Before joining the family business, he worked for five years as a consultant in an international strategy consulting company. Tom Kessler has joined Kessler in 2013.
